Traditional microRNA testing technology, such as quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) and various fluorescent and colorimetric assays, often suffer from complicated operations and limited sensitivity. The activity of miRNA varies across different cell populations and systems, as part of the mechanisms that distinguish cell types and roles in living organisms and in human health and disease. Electrochemical methods are recommended for biomarker diagnosis because to their cheap cost, fast responsiveness, simplicity of operation, quantifiability, miniaturization potential, high sensitivity and selectivity, and reduced detection limit.
